OCTOBER 24, 2010 Take Down Crime's First Annual Athletes Against Crime Fundraiser
First, I want to say I am so thankful that the rain stayed at bay today! We have needed rain so badly in this area and it was supposed to really rain today, but it didn't ...a few starts, but always just enough to remind us that we were supposed to have been rained out, not enough to really effect anything going on. Nothing like electric guitars screaming in the rain!
Secondly, I have to say a HUGE thank you to the Franklins, Kevin, Rene, Zane, Melody and Mandy (and Zeb!) for all of your help and support. The fundraiser was Zane's idea in the beginning and Kevin and Rene really buckled down and put a LOT of work into making it the success that it was! We TRULY could not have done this without them! And to Guitarworks, Kevin and Rene's business, for hosting the fundraiser and being really great to work with...your whole company and band families (great group of people) pitched in and we are so appreciative of that.
All the donors, listed over there---------->
You are amazing and I want to thank you for showing your support to the community around you. I know you get hit up every single day multiple times for one thing or another, I thank you for taking the time even still to find out what we do and to agree it's a good cause and then stand behind it with your contribution. Thank you all.
Special shout out to Michelle Niemier from New Palestine, IN and the Dragon Wrestling Club, your help was INVALUABLE and so appreciated. Thanks for showing up, showing out and all the help behind the scenes.
Thanks to Stacy Brickler, Gina Sylvester, Hunter and Eva Sylvester, and Emily Griffin for helping out and giving back. Your support means the world to me because you are personal friends and family. It was so special for me to have you all there.
Josh Baxter, your relationship with Coach is so special and has spanned for over a decade now. Thank you so much for videotaping our event and turning it into something we can cherish and share over and over again. Thank you so much for bringing your family with you, it was a pleasure to meet your wife and that sweet beautiful baby of yours! And it's always great to see you. I know Coach is very proud of you.
For all our patrons who came out to support our efforts today, listen to some music and pitch in with your dollars to help our cause, thank you for supporting the community around you and Take Down Crime specifically. It is my sincere hope that you all had a great time, got some great items, and know in your hearts you did a great job helping out our efforts. I met some really neat people and got to see some much loved faces I haven't seen in a long time. Thanks so much.
And finally, to our Take Down Crime Family, my goodness what a ride we have been on so far. Thanks to all of you for taking the journey with us. Our Coaches are second to none, they show up for lives, not just tournaments and practice. Our newest Take Down Crime volunteer, Jane, was a tremendous help today, showing up way early to help set up and stuck it out like a trooper to nearly the end. Our families showed up and helped out today and I was so proud of each of you. It was a good event, lots of fun, and now it's time to get ready for the season. It's going to be another great year and we are honored to spend it with you.
Thank you to all the businesses and donors for your support of our efforts!
I encourage you to support these businesses when you are looking for goods and/or services, as they support the community around them! It's one thing to say oh what a great program .... it's quite another to support it financially. These companies deserve your business.
